Original articles may include randomized controlled trials, observational studies, surveys and audits.
Review articles may discuss the topics of recent interest in the field of critical care medicine. Editorials are solicited. Usually written by the editor or members of editorial board. Invited submissions should follow approval from editorial team.
Case reports would contain a series of cases or a single case, that would additionally contribute to the current understanding of disease management.
Letter to editor would address the published article in this journal or comment on recent scientific advances of general interest.
Clinical images should contain original high-quality image of patient or investigation findings (radiographic images, histopathological slides) that would be of relevance/interest in critical care medicine.
Commentaries are focused articles that are commissioned by journal. It either highlights recently published article related to critical care medicine in JNSCCM or other journals or covers an aspect of critical care relevant to the scope of the journal.
General instructions
- Manuscript must be submitted as a soft Submission of hard copy is not accepted.

Authorship
Authorship credit must comply with the criteria recommended by International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). All enlisted authors must meet following four criteria:
- Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; AND
- Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content; AND
- Final approval of the version to be published; AND
- Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and
Copyright statement
The submitted manuscript must be the original work of the authors and should not have been published previously, nor should it be under consideration for publication elsewhere. It should be mentioned in the author declaration form.
If the authors wish to reproduce text, tables or figures from previously published source, the authors need to obtain written permission from the copyright holder (usually the journal which had published the work)
All the submitted manuscript will undergo plagiarism screening. Materials with high plagiarism will be entitled to rejection/revision.
Conflicts of interest
Any relevant conflicts of interest related to the manuscript/scientific work need to be disclosed by the authors during submission.
Statement of ethics
This journal follows the ethical standards described by Committee on Publication Ethics and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. While using the images that would disclose the identity of the patient, written informed consent from patient/next of kin must be obtained and submitted together with the manuscript.

Following materials must be submitted:
Cover page:
- Should contain the title of the manuscript, a short running title, total words count of abstract, total word count of manuscript, information of any disclaimers or funding bodies and the corresponding author’s full names, qualifications, affiliations, departments, email and addresses of institute affiliated (street, city, country).
Authorship page:
- Should contain in sequence, the information about primary author, corresponding author, and other authors, with authors’ full names, highest academic qualifications, affiliations, departments, email and addresses of institute affiliated (street, city, country). Also mention, authorship contribution of each author and their signatures.
Declaration page:
- Need to declare any conflicts of interest, permission obtained (if any previously published materials are reproduced), etc and need to declare that the work is original and is not being submitted nor is under consideration for publication elsewhere. Need to be signed by the corresponding
Ethical approval letter:
- Need to be submitted for any work involving human or animal subjects and for multicentric, interventional or international
